WELCOME

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As co-chairs of the 2025 ISPID International Conference, we warmly welcome you to Houston, TX. The theme of this year’s conference is “Fostering Unity for Infant Survival: Collaborative Approaches Across Communities.” We look forward to building on the momentum from our successful 2023 Florence Conference and are thrilled at the prospect of coming together to share our efforts in addressing sudden deaths in infants and children. We also look forward to visiting Houston, with its many wonderful cultural, historical, and recreational activities.

Members of the International Society for the Study and Prevention of Perinatal and Infant Death (ISPID) and our gracious US hosts at First Candle, will join delegates from around the world to further our knowledge through research forums, innovative training sessions and inclusive workshops. As always, the voices of families who have experienced the heartbreak of sudden, unexpected loss will be valued and supported.

The multidisciplinary nature of this conference will provide something for everyone who is involved in the provision of care for our families. We will be especially focused on supporting collaboration across communities, countries, and continents through sharing ideas and fostering a sense of belonging. We will listen and learn from the parents and family members who have experienced the tragedy of losing a baby, taking forward common goals for improved provision of healthcare and education, while hearing from international healthcare professionals on promising new research and promoting collaborative global research. Our shared goal is to improve outcomes for future generations and protect precious lives.

Enjoy this opportunity to celebrate our unique qualities in an environment where our diverse backgrounds and lived experiences contribute to shared ideas, engaged stimulating discussions and promote unity for infant survival.

We hope you will enjoy this opportunity to network, share ideas, and engage in stimulating discussions in a beautiful location! We look forward to welcoming each and every one and wish you a successful conference!
