2025 ISPID Travel Award Application Information

Awards will be made to assist full-time students, recent graduates, or new investigators to attend the International Conference (Oct 9-12 in San Diego, CA USA). The award amount is US$1800. The funds are not available to attend other conferences. Previous awardees are not eligible. We encourage applications from diverse communities.

To apply, the Candidate:

• Must be a full-time student, be within 3 years of the postgraduate qualification or can justify that they qualify as a new investigator.

• Must be a member of ISPID (to join go to Join ISPID).

• Must be first author on an abstract for oral presentation at the Conference. Abstract submission deadline is March 31, 2025.

• Applicants who are selected for the travel award must have their abstract accepted for an oral presentation.

• Travel Award applications should be emailed to Dr. Fern R. Hauck, ISPID Chair, at frh8e@virginia.edu by May 5, 2025 and should include in one document:

  • A letter from the applicant requesting to be selected for this travel award.

  • A copy of the abstract that has been submitted.

  • A curriculum vitae.

  • A letter of recommendation from their primary supervisor or laboratory director that indicates the contribution of the new investigator's work and direction in which this work is headed.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome by June 5 with the US$1800 award being provided soon thereafter.

March 31: Deadline for abstract submission

April 20: Notification of Abstract acceptance received

May 5: Deadline for Travel Award application

June 5: Awardees will be notified
